October 2023

Happy Fall!

I hope you all are enjoying these first, fresh, chilly days of fall!

These last months of summer were truly a season of plenty.

I kept busy with numerous in-person shows and my first few online sales (thanks y’all!)

I had some big successes with Jord’s Hoard. Notably, Artsfest 2023 at Ann Marie Sculpture Gardens! Artsfest was the biggest sale I’ve participated in so far. Spanning 2 days, we had over 180+ vendors and 1,000’s of attendees, many who stopped to shop and chat with us!

A special treat of this sale was a visit to Calvert Cliffs State Park. My first visit there, I was greeted by an absolutely beautiful, thriving wetland with blooming waterlilies, beaver dams, clay cliffs and ancient fossils!

Some other markets I vended at this summer include:

Overlea Artsfest at Holt Park in Overlea

Hamilton-Lauraville Farmers Market at 4500 Harford Road in Hamilton-Lauraville

Overlea Farmer’s Market at Maryland Historical Society

Rosebud Flea at The Radebaugh Florist in Towson

Plants Alive! Makers Market in Silver Spring

Stations of the Crafts at Metro Gallery during ARTSCAPE

If you visited me at any of these, thanks for coming out to support and say hi!

Between August and September, I had three big firings. Two different woodfirings, one at Baltimore Clayworks in September and a test wood firing near Hyattsville with a new group of artists and a big batch of ^10 at Chesapeake Arts Center. I have a ton of new pieces ready for sale this fall!

Summer held highlights outside of the studio, too. In July, Victor and I took a canoe camping trip down the Delaware river through the Delaware River Water Gap National Recreation Area. We swam, camped and paddled for 30 delightful miles with turtles, beavers and bald eagles.

In August, I turned 27. To celebrate, we traveled to Harpers Ferry for some freshwater diving near in the Potomac River and biking on the C&O Canal.

Over the long, sweet summer months, I continued exploring polymer clay. I made more insects including Baltimore Checkerspot and Monarch wings, invertebrates (so many earthworms!) and started with a new pursuit, jewelry inspired by local fungi!

This fall, I’m looking forward to more firings and my first full holiday market season as Jord’s Hoard, and happening now, Spooky Market season!

Catch me in person at these upcoming spooky markets:

Friday the 13th Night Market at Ministry of Brewing 6-9 PM. (Join me in costume!)

Bazaar Esoterica at The Peale Museum! 11 AM - 4 PM

Haunted Heightscape at Peabody Brewing! Oct 21, 12-7 PM

Monster of a Show on Nov 4th at Three Arts Club of Homewood 10 AM - 4 PM

And that’s a wrap!

I’m delighted to announce my fall shop update is imminent! Fresh items drop online this Saturday at 10 am!
